Covid-19 Preparedness Statement

We continue to monitor the progression of the outbreak of Covid-19 and government response levels.  Our principal focus is the welfare of our employees at the same time as balancing the need to maintain our supply chains and manage disruption to our distribution and manufacturing operations and the impact on everyday life.

All of our sites are strictly following government guidelines on how to mitigate the risks of transmission of Covid-19.  In addition to following these guidelines the Group has placed stringent restrictions on travel, meetings, visitors to site together with an increased focus on homeworking.

CTHG comprises a diverse group of businesses with multiple site operations across the UK and this diversity is a significant strength which allows us to react to and mitigate the risk of spread of the virus.

In terms of business continuity, we have plans in place to optimise our IT capabilities across the Group to maximise our ability to work remotely and or operate from different locations across the Group should the situation arise. Teams have been established within each operating entity to provide appropriate contingency planning and the senior leadership team are ensuring we have consistency of approach across our Group operations.

In terms of specifics we are taking the following actions:

  • We are following all government guidelines with respect to international travel.
  • Wherever possible where meetings are planned, we are recommending that those planning the meetings explore the IT and virtual options to reduce the need to travel.
  • We have suspended all international business travel and UK domestic travel is being kept to an absolute minimum.
  • We are suspending attendance at any conferences and trade meetings.
  • Maximising the ability to work remotely from home across all of our sites.
  • Increasing the cleaning regimes at all of our offices.
  • Employees with flu like symptoms are being asked to self-isolate, seek guidance from Public Health England and are being asked to work from home for a minimum of 7 days.

As a diverse Group of businesses, we carry strategic level of stock to service customers and during this time we are committed to keeping these stocks at the maximum levels feasible. We are confident that these stocks offer our customers security of supply against any short-term interruptions to raw material. If customers have supply concerns, we would encourage you to increase stock holdings at this time to support our efforts in mitigating supply chain risks and where possible we will support these requests.

Although we believe the actions, we have put in place are appropriate for the current levels of risk, they are under constant review and we will continue to monitor things in line with government recommendations.
